Geography: Zavitinsk is a town and the administrative center of Zavitinsky District in Amur Oblast.
1906 - the foundation of the settlement Zavitaya by immigrants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
1912 - the railway passed through the village
1914 - opened of Zavitaya station
1936 - assignment of the status of the urban settlement
1954 - assignment of the status of the city and the name 'Zavitinsk'
