Zeya - the center of the Zeya district of the Amur region, located in the central part of the region, on the right bank of the river Zeya. Date of foundation and the first written mention - 1879. Previous name - Zeyskiy Warehouse (until 1906 year), Zeya-Pier (until 1913 year). The city history begins with the founding of a transit point Zeisky Warehouse Upper Amur gold mining company. From 1906 to 1913 the city was called Zea Jetty. The main type of industry - gold mining, forest industry.
