History of city Agryz, Republic of Tatarstan in photos

A small historical reference

Agryz - center of Agryz district of Tatarstan, located in the north-east of republic, on the border with of Udmurtia, on the river Agryzka. Date of establishment - 1646 year. The city history begins with Agryz village, which was first mentioned as a part of the possessions belonging to the princes Yausheva Tersinskoy parish books in the 1646 census. Then there were only six yards.

Development Agryz began during construction of the railway Kazan-Ekaterinburg. At the end of the 20s the village Agryz into a working village with a population of about 10 thousand people. August 28th, 1938 the working settlement Agryz Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR became a town.
