A small historical reference

Neryungri - center of Neryungri district of Yakutia Republic, located in the south of the republic, on the right bank of the river Chulman. City story begins in the 40s, when it housed prospecting party. In 1952, at the mouth of the river Neryungri (with Evenki - "river grayling") appeared tent, the first housing of the future settlement Neryungri.

The basic economy of the city is the extraction and processing of high-quality coking and thermal coal.
