History of city Novoaltaysk, Altai Krai in photos

A small historical reference

Novoaltaisk - the center of the Pervomaisky district of the Altai Territory, situated on the north-eastern edge, on the right bank of the Ob River, in the lower reaches of its right tributary - the river Chesnokovka, 12 km from the capital of the region - the city of Barnaul. Date of foundation and the first written mention - 1736. Previous name - Chesnokovka. In 1934 the village was built a woodworking factory in 1941 here was evacuated from Dneprodzerzhinsk Wagon Works.

Proximity Novoaltaisk to of Barnaul contributed to the development of a large industrial center (Novoaltaisk Carriage Works, Beloyarskii railway sleepers impregnating plant) and railway junction (station Altai is one of 10 major railway junctions of Russia).
