Severodvinsk - the city in the Arkhangelsk region, located near the Nikolsky mouth of the Northern Dvina River, in the place of its confluence with the White Sea. Date of establishment - 1936 year. Previous name - Nichola-Korelskiy monastery (until 1921 year), Sudostroy (until 1938 year), Molotovsk (until 1957 year).

The city history begins with the first mention in 1419 year Nichola-Korelskogo monastery. In 1936, a decision on the construction of shipyard number 402 near Nikolsky mouth of the Northern Dvina. The village is under construction at the plant was named Molotovsk. In 1950 it was decided to select the main type of production factory building nuclear submarines, he became the chief of Soviet enterprises for the production of strategic submarines. In 1957 the town was renamed Severodvinsk.
