A small historical reference

Uchaly - center of Uchaly district of the Republic Bashkortostan, located in the east of the republic, 10 km from the source of the river Ural (Yaik), the Southern Urals, among lakes, on the eastern mountain range Uraltau. Date of establishment - 1955. The first written mention - XIX century. The city history begins with the discovery in the late 30's gold ore deposits. In 1940 the miners from nearby villages organized a gang and began to build the mine on the lake Small Uchaly. Gold ore occurs in 2-4 meters from surface, so mining was open way.

Further development of the city began with the construction of Uchaly mining and processing plant that produces more than 65% of zinc concentrate in Russia, and also leads prey copper, gold, silver, platinum and other metals in small quantities. Becoming Uchalu as a major industrial center helped such companies as mining and logging, mining company "Ural stone", foundry-mechanical plant, forestry machinery, garment factory, Sangalyksky diorite quarry, gold mining company, the company "Granit", a creamery and others.
